Google's parent company, Alphabet, announced Tuesday that Sundar Pichai will take over as CEO of Alphabet in addition to his current role as head of the core Google unit. Pichai will replace Larry Page, who, along with Sergey Brin, will remain "actively involved as shareholders and co-founders."
As Jeff Morris Jr. put it on Twitter:
"Two of the most iconic co-founders depart together on the same day. A poetic decision after 21 years leading the world’s 4th most valuable company. Every co-founding team should view this moment as the dream."
Now, someone please call Sundar and ask him to change the name back to Google.
